DAVIS - A graphic television commercial critical of animal experiments
at University of California, Davis will begin running for the
first time on Davis and statewide cable channels like CNN and Fox News
this week, said a national research watchdog group which has filed
several complaints against the school violations of federal law.
A news conference to preview the commercial will be held TUESDAY, at 1
p.m. at the Howard Johnson (4100 Chiles Road, I-80 & Mace).
The paid television spot - to air prime time - is the latest salvo
fired by animal rights activists as they try to persuade UC Davis and
other UC campuses to end cruel, wasteful practices inside their secret
research facilities.
...
SAEN, a national research waste watchdog non-profit based in Ohio,
will also release internal documents detailing more than $100 million
in government waste in research laboratories like those at UC Davis.
